Up Close & Personal With Sacai's Ingenious Nike "Blazer With The Dunk" Collaboration
Excited for 2019 yet?
Thanks to Chinese sneakerheads @hanzuying, we have a closer look at one of Spring/Summer 2019’s most anticipated sneaker releases: the sacai x Nike “Blazer with the Dunk.” The layered silhouette first debuted during the Japanese label’s SS19 runway presentation, alongside the “LDV With Waffle Daybreak” runners. The “Blazer with the Dunk” does as the name suggests, mashing up two classic Nike silhouettes into one wild sneaker, yielding double the Swooshes, laces, vamps, midsoles and tongues. The layered pieces create a unique texture across the entirety of the shoe, particularly where the bi-color Swooshes and differently-angled midsoles are layered atop each other.
