sacai's Whimsical SS19 Collection Includes a Nike Collaboration
Featuring a series of mashed-up Nikes.
For sacai Spring/Summer 2019, creative director Chitose Abe presented a gender-defying and whimsical collection. The looks featured twists on traditional tailoring, with a heavy dose of Native American references and designs from tattoo artist Dr. Woo. Elsewhere, geometric patterns on trousers, anoraks and dresses were made in collaboration with Oregon-based textile manufacturer Pendleton.
Abe also collaborated with Nike to present a series of sneakers in line with the free-form tone of the collection, mashing up the Waffle Daybreak with the LDV and the Blazer with the Dunk. See some of the kicks below.
