The first trailer from Adam McKay‘s feature film about former Vice President Dick Cheney has arrived, with Christain Bale undertaking a huge transformation for the role. In the trailer above for Vice, we see footage of Cheney’s political career, with Amy Adams playing his wife Lynn and Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld.

Alongside Bale’s transformation though is Sam Rockwell‘s President George Bush, of whom he catches the cadence and nuances perfectly, as does Bale for Chaney. We see the two having a conversation as Bush chows down on some wings, with Cheney convincing him to run for president. McKay also adds the hilariously bizarre events of Cheney’s life, which also includes him accidentally shooting his friend in the face with a quail gun. Vice hits theaters on December 21.
