Carhartt WIP Taps Loro Piana to Reimagine Staples in Luxurious Italian Fabrics
Premium, weather resistant suiting wool.
Carhartt WIP‘s youthful twists on workwear staples have yielded a variety of appreciable collaborations, ranging from the playful Boot Boyz-abetted Trojan Records tribute to a sophisticated take on the Timex Camper MK1. Now, Japan is set to receive an exclusive capsule range of layering pieces crafted from elegant Loro Piana wool.
Best known as purveyors of fine tailoring materials, Loro Piana are no strangers to street-leaning labels, having provided textiles to Supreme and YSTRDY’S TMRRW alike. Carhartt WIP sourced a selection of the Italian mill’s Storm System fabric, a breathable wool blend that offers superior rain and wind resistance, key for winter weather. Twin vests, chore jackets, a zippered hoodie and the brand’s signature double-knee pants are all executed in Loro Piana’s navy- or earth-toned wool, utilizing quilted lining for extra warmth.
Keep an eye on JOURNAL STANDARD’s web store to host the drop on October 5.
Most recently, mental health-minded charity Compos Mentis recently tapped the workwear label to provide T-shirts for a special release.
