New Balance Debuts 990 "Color Spectrum" in "North Sea"
An understated take on the chunky runner.
New Balance continues issuing sleek colorways with its latest 990 “Color Spectrum.” Dubbed “North Sea,” the sneaker offers a tasteful, muted color palette atop a streamlined, yet chunky, silhouette.
The Made in USA “North Sea” features the usual detailing seen on the 990, like the substantial midsole and large tongue offsetting the otherwise sleek upper. With its upper swathed in navy pig suede, the shoe serves up monochrome accents on the midsole and rear, allowing the ocean-inspired hue to speak for itself. A white Abzorb midsole is balanced on top of a black outsole, mirrored by a black sockliner and heel detailing, with a grey “USA” panel interrupting a patch of hairy suede on the rear ankle.
