Acclaimed Eminem-Produced Satirical Rap Film 'Bodied' Purchased by YouTube
Set to be previewed at the Sundance Film Festival.
YouTube has snagged the Eminem-produced rap battle film Bodied ahead of its preview at the Sundance Film Festival. Its acquisition was announced today alongside the festival’s preview ahead of the January 21 release. The film will also have a theatrical release later this year, where it will also be available on YouTube Red.
Directed by Joseph Kahn, the plot of Bodied has been described by The Toronto International Film Festival as a story about a “white, purportedly progressive graduate student who infiltrates a community of diverse battle rappers for the sake of an edgy thesis.” The film debuted at the festival in 2017, where it was met with positive reviews. Starring Calum Worth alongside battle rappers Dizaster, Dumbfoundead, Hollow Da Don, as well as radio personality Charlamagne Tha God, catch Bodied when it premieres later this year.
