Pokémon Go Players Are Finding Shiny Magikarp That Evolve Into Red Gyarados
And some are getting trolled by Ditto.
After launching its Water Festival event recently, Pokémon Go players are seeing increased select water Pokémon spawns around the world. But it seems that the developers at Niantic snuck in an extra surprise for players. Soon after the event launched, many discovered Shiny Magikarp, marking the first time shiny Pokémon have appeared in Pokémon Go. Additionally, the golden Magikarp has the ability to evolve into the famed Red Gyarados that first appeared in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver. Although some players that have encountered the Shiny Magikarp are experiencing a problem where the shiny Pokémon they’ve caught is actually a Ditto disguising itself. The Water Festival event ends March 29 and you can read some reactions from players that caught disguising Dittos below.
