'Grand Theft Auto V' Is Now the Best-Selling Game of All Time
Outpacing previous top-seller “Wii Sports.”
According to Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto V has overtaken Wii Sports to become the United States’ best-selling video game of all time. In a recent financial report, Take-Two announced that the fifth main installment of the Grand Theft Auto series as the all-time best-selling video game in terms of revenue as well as units.
That’s 85 million copies of Grand Theft Auto V vs. Wii Sports’ 82 million copies, which was originally bundled alongside the Wii system during its debut. GTA V earns this acclaim from gamers returning to it repeatedly with digital and physical sales across all available platforms as well through GTA Online in-game content.
