Per usual, Bembury will offer the first wave of pairs as his BeASpunge site will host a release on March 13 at 12pm EST. Update: A steady stream of updates surrounding Salehe Bembury’s next project with New Balance have been arriving since a leaked pair popped up earlier this month. Initially teased back in August of last year, it looks like the sneaker may finally be dropping soon as official images have just arrived. As discussed in prior coverage, the shoe’s mixed material purple upper hosts a wide variety of colors, including touches of orange, blue, gold and green. Its two-tone midsole transitions from purple at the forefoot to beige and a rose red at the ABZORB branding. We remain without a launch date for this new collaboration, however, it’s likely to launch soon via New Balance and select retailers at a starting price of $250 USD.

Update: Shortly after an early pair leaked, Salehe Bembury decided to tease his upcoming New Balance 991v2 “Colors Be The Palette” collab. While limited to just one image, the biggest takeaway here is that the shoe may be hitting shelves very soon. As described in our last update, it sports a vibrant color palette and includes nods to Bembury at both the tongue and packaging. Stay tuned for updates regarding its release and revisit our initial breakdowns below for more details.

Update: One shoe that was revealed last year and quietly left the collective radar of sneakerheads was this New Balance 991v2 collab teased by Salehe Bembury. Teased last August, he went on to drop projects like the New Balance 530 “Prosperity Be the Prize” and this year’s 1500 “GROWTH BE THE TREE” instead. However, it may be time for this 991v2 “Colors Be The Palette” sneaker to release as a leaked pair has popped up. As described in our initial breakdown below, the vibrant version of the shoe sports a mixed material purple upper that includes rough suede overlays. Co-branding is served at the tongue and custom packaging while hints of green, orange, off-white, blue and red are scattered throughout. We remain without any firm release details so stay tuned for more updates as we expect it to arrive in the months to come, likely via BeASpunge and New Balance at a starting price of $250 USD.

Original Story: It’s been less than a year since New Balance first introduced the 991v2 as a lifestyle runner, teaming up with Stone Island to debut the model. Since then, various projects involving the shoe have released one after another, with its new region-exclusive “City Edition” pack as the latest bundle to arrive.

Salehe Bembury has just taken to Instagram to reveal that he’s the next collaborator to grace the 991v2, teasing a pair at Copenhagen Fashion Week, where he gave away free pairs of his upcoming collaboration involving the 530 sneaker. In our two-image preview of Bembury’s first take on the 991v2, it noticeably sports a rough suede in purple across its upper. From there, a royal blue appears at the tongue tag, which notably carries orange co-branding from the duo. Additional pops of color are delivered in green at the lining, off-white at the midsole, gray at the toe overlays, black at the outsole and “N” logo outlines, as well as a pop of lime green at the toe.

At the time of writing, neither New Balance nor Salehe Bembury have shared any details regarding their upcoming collaboration involving the 991v2. Stay tuned for updates, including a closer look at the pair and launch info, as we expect it to release in the coming months via New Balance and select retailers around the $250 USD price point.
