Fritz Hansen Refreshes Ubiquitous Series 7 Chair in "7:14 AM" Palette
In celebration of the chair’s 70th anniversary, the Danish furniture maker is kicking off a series of activities centered on the ever-present piece.

As 2025 marks seven decades of the pervasive Series 7 chair, originally designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955, Fritz Hansen is kicking off a year-long campaign of activities, collaborations, and special-edition releases. To inaugurate the 70th anniversary, the Danish furniture manufacturer has unveiled the “7:14 AM” collection, a lineup of five colors inspired by the distinct feel of Danish morning light.
Offered in light tones of blue, violet, pink, beige and green, Fritz Hansen’s new palette aims to evoke an elongated sunrise during Denmark’s autumn season. To further enhance the ethereal inspirations behind the collection, the design’s original chrome legs are recast in an iridescent finish, which varies in different lighting and angles.
“This chair is such an icon and the Danish light is like nowhere else. When you stack the chairs, you get a feel for this fluent sunrise factor like refracted light,” said Fritz Hansen Creative Director Els Van Hoorebeeck in a statement.

The integrity of the original design is honored by Fritz Hansen, maintaining the gently curved plywood seat and the chrome tubed legs. The chair’s minimal sensibility and smooth aesthetic appeal has made it an enduring piece used in both public and private spaces around the globe. As the chair has remained ever-present through the decades, it has served as a key point of reference for similar Modernist and mass-produced chairs.
Fritz Hansen’s “7:14 AM” Series 7 collection is available for a limited time through 2025 through Fritz Hansen’s website.
