Get your brackets ready because the NCAA Men’s and Women’s basketball tournaments are beginning this week. However, before the madness kicks off, another stacked list of sneaker drops are scheduled to take place, involving Nike, Jordan Brand, adidas, New Balance, Altra, On and Timberland. We’ll be kicking things off with the latest from Nike SB and the Jumpman team, but first let’s look back at which sneaker headlines caught our eye last week.

On the feature side of things, we connected with PUMA’s lead sportstyle footwear designer for A$AP Rocky and FENTY to discuss the Mostro Disscord — A$AP Rocky’s latest creation with the brand. We also put together a preview of our new special Nike and Jordan issue of Hypebeast Magazine.

Elsewhere, A Ma Maniére presented its three-shoe “For The Love” campaign, featuring new takes on the Air Max 95, Air Force 1 Low and Air Jordan 3. Supreme re-entered the mix with new previews of its forthcoming Air Max 1 ‘87 project and we also took a first look at what to expect from this year’s “Big Bubble” version of the Air Max 95. The signature shoe scene was shaken up by Giannis Antetokounmpo teasing his upcoming Nike Giannis Freak 7 and Jordan Brand presenting Luka Dončić’s new Luka 4 and Luka .77 models.

New Balance had a standout week with not only the introduction of its new Made in UK Allerdale model, but a Stone Island collaboration featuring the 998 silhouette and a new Minimus Trail colorway as well. JJJJound teased it’s next OTW by Vans collaboration — presenting two new takes on the LX Half Cab Reissue 33 Decon. Rounding things out, we took a look at Engineered Garments and Red Wing’s second collaboration.

With all of the past week’s key headlines revisited, let’s now look ahead at what’s to come this week, starting with the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 “Navy.” Per usual, don’t forget to hit up HBX to shop styles that are available now after you make your way through all 10 drops.

Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 “Navy”

Release Date: March 18
Release Price: $225 USD
Where to Buy: Select Skate Shops
Why You Should Cop: Nike SB’s skate-ready version of the Air Jordan 4 took the sneaker scene by storm in 2023. Now, it’s finally time for its long-rumored sequel to hit the market, offering a “Navy” finish this time around. The revamped build simply sees the “Pine Green” of its predecessor swapped out for the dark blue hue, a testament to how perfect the initial pair was.

adidas Gazelle Indoor Made in Italy “Core Black”

Release Date: March 18
Release Price: $350 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: Many different adidas silhouettes have thrived in the wake of the Samba hype. Once such design is the Gazelle Indoor with its slender shape offering a twist on the football sneaker. With this Made in Italy rendition of the shoe, it has been dressed up as a luxe option. Drenched in “Core Black,” the all-black version of the shoe places its emphasis solely on its shape, which sees a streamlined leather upper joined by suede detailing at the toe and a dress shoe-inspired sole.

Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG “Varsity Red”

Release Date: March 18
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: In case you were one of the many sneakerheads to miss out on its initial drop, the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG “Varsity Red” is back this week. The pair, which revisits the approach of the duo’s Frankenstein-d Air Jordan 1 grails from 2018, sees the OG “Chicago” colorway combine with the collar of the beloved “Shadow” look to create something new.

New Balance 1906L “Black Leather”

Release Date: March 19
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: New Balance
Why You Should Cop: It’s been over a year since Junya Watanabe first unveiled the polarizing New Balance 1906L sneaker loafer. Since then, colorways have flown off of shelves one after another. This week, it’s been prepared in a “Black Leather” that sees the silhouette again covered in black, this time favoring a leather upper that is similar to a pair from the aforementioned Junya Watanabe collaboration.

and wander x Altra Timp 5 BOA

Release Date: March 19
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: and wander and Altra
Why You Should Cop: Altra continues to steadily carve out its own lane in the footwear space as, following its ROA collaboration from last December, it now teams up with Japan’s and wander for a new take on the Timp 5 BOA sneaker. The adventure-ready design pays homage to the mountains with its “Granite Grey” colorway reflecting the alpine landscapes that each brand does its product testing on. A BOA Fit System secures the upper while a Vibram Megagrip outsole allows the shoe to explore all terrains with ease.

POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) x On “CURRENT FORM 2.0+”

Release Date: March 20
Release Price: $200 USD to $240 USD
Where to Buy: POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF)
Why You Should Cop: POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) and On solidified themselves as key partners to each other by dropping not just one, but two campaigns last year, eventually earning them the Hypebeast100 award for best sneaker collaboration in 2024. The dynamic duo is back again, revisiting both the Cloudmonster 2 and Cloudventure Peak in new monochromatic makeovers that combine PAF’s penchant for ultramodern styling with On’s footwear expertise.

COMME des GARÇONS HOMME x New Balance 990v6

Release Date: March 21
Release Price: ¥75,900 JPY (approx. $509 USD)
Where to Buy: COMME des GARÇONS HOMME Stores
Why You Should Cop: Rei Kawakubo’s COMME des GARÇONS empire collaborates with a wide variety of brands through its many different labels. For COMME des GARÇONS HOMME, it’s worked closely with New Balance in recent years and is back with a new project for Spring/Summer 2025, taking on the 990v6 silhouette for the first time. Its two colorways offer all-white and all-black renditions of the sneaker that feature subtle co-branding at both the tongues and sockliners of the shoes.

Hender Scheme x Timberland 3-Eye Lug Boat Shoe

Release Date: March 21
Release Price: ¥48,400 JPY (approx. $324 USD)
Where to Buy: Hender Scheme
Why You Should Cop: Hender Scheme’s craftmanship meets Timberland’s footwear legacy as the two have combined to create their own full-grain leather-equipped 3-Eye Lug Boat Shoe. This rich brown leather that the Japanese label is known for will develop a unique patina with the wear of each pair, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for each owner. Timberland’s tree logo rests at the lateral midfoot while a Hender Scheme wordmark can be spotted at the lateral heel’s stitched tag.

Junya Watanabe MAN x New Balance Minimus UX200

Release Date: March 21
Release Price: ¥40,700 JPY (approx. $273 USD)
Where to Buy: Junya Watanabe MAN Stores
Why You Should Cop: Another COMME des GARÇONS-related New Balance collaboration is en route this week as Junya Watanabe MAN takes on the Minimus UX200. The flat soled trainer also dons all-white and all-black looks as yellow Vibram branding at the lateral serves as the only touch of color. Junya Watanabe MAN’s classic wordmark is included at both the tongue and sockliner as well.

Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Obsidian”

Release Date: March 22
Release Price: $140 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: As the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” For Jordan Brand, its “Obsidian” colorway of the Air Jordan 1 High OG was a well-received new addition to the sneaker in 2019 and its blue and off-white presentation now finds itself atop the model’s low-top counterpart. Its “Sail” base is accompanied by “Obsidian” at the forefoot and midfoot overlays, as well as at the Swooshes, laces, lining and outsole. From there, “University Blue” joins in at the heel counter and heel tab to complete the pair.
