A pair of sample Nike Air Foamposite Ones in a “New York Yankees” color scheme has surfaced. The silhouette has long been known for its futuristic aesthetic, with everything from classic colors like “Royal” and “Cough Drop: to the past as well as “Galaxy” prints and other textured iterations. The popularity of the silhouette has led to the recent surfacing of several unreleased colorways. This current “Yankees” colorway was dropped on Portland-based consignment store INDEX and sees the alternating striping that was inspired by the iconic “Sharpie” Foamposite. This particular iteration features navy blue and white hues taking over the upper, including light grey hints on the outsole, eyelets and heel collar. The colorway was inspired by Penny Hardaway’s use of a Sharpie marker back in 1997 to fill in the indented grooves of his Foamposite shoes to comply with the league uniform rules back in the day. The sample is now available online in a size nine. INDEX PDX is asking $3,500 USD for the pair.
