Update: It’s been almost a month since JJJJound teased its latest project with Vans, teaming up with its new OTW by Vans division to rework the Half Cab sneaker. We now have a release date for the project alongside a closer look and description of both colorways. The duo has stripped the shoe of its padding, offering a lifestyle-oriented take on the skate shoe that JJJJound notes as being perfect for retired skaters. Suede colorway options of black and burgundy each see off-white detailing present at the sole unit, laces, and nylon tongue. Each pair features the JJJJound wordmark at the right shoe’s sockliner, as well as co-branded tags and a collaborative shoe box too. Release is set to take place on April 17 via JJJJound.

Original Story: JJJJound, having already dropped collaborations with New Balance and adidas earlier this year — is back with yet another footwear project, reuniting with Vans. The two began their partnership in 2017 and most recently produced a hospitality-themed campaign featuring three silhouettes in July of 2023. Now, with Vans having pivoted the Vault by Vans line to OTW by Vans, it is preparing its first JJJJound collab post-rebrand.
Teased by JJJJound on Instagram, their first OTW by Vans campaign sees the Half Cab — noted specifically as the LX Half Cab Reissue 33 Decon on one document included in the post — presented in two different colorways of black and burgundy. Each is equipped with a suede upper and “Marshmallow”-colored sole unit with tonal Half Cab collar branding. There’s some variance between the pairs, indicating that these are likely all samples and the final versions of the shoe may differ when they launch later this year.
At the time of writing, neither JJJJound nor OTW by Vans have confirmed specific release details regarding their forthcoming LX Half Cab Reissue 33 Decon collaboration.
