Update: It’s been quite the journey as sneakerheads have eagerly awaited the arrival of Futura’s latest Nike SB Dunk, which was spotted over half a year ago at this point. Now, the Swoosh has shared its official imagery of the duo’s retail pair — highlighting its multicolored arrangement. As expected, the second pair remains a friends-and-family-exclusive and will not be arriving alongside it next month. Release for the project is set to take place on May 10 via Nike SNKRS and select skate shops at a starting price of $135 USD. For more info about the collaboration, be sure to review our timeline of updates below.

Update: It has now been over 20 years since Futura’s legendary Nike SB Dunk High “FLOM” was created. Celebrating this, the American graffiti artist has reconnected with the Nike SB team for not just one new SB Dunk Low colorway, but two. While sneakerheads have been salivating over the blue pair for nearly six months now, Futura took to Instagram today to reveal an even wilder pair from the project. Equipped with pink Swooshes, the design utilizes various colorful gradients and patterns across its build. Unfortunately, it’s said to be a friends-and-family-exclusive and will not be made available to the public. However, the blue colorway has been announced as a May launch, presumably via Nike SNKRS and select skate shops. For more info about the collaboration, be sure to review our previous updates below.

Update: Futura is off to a hot start this year. The beloved artist has already teamed up with Supreme, as well as Salehe Bembury and Crocs. However, one major project remains unreleased — his latest take on the Nike SB Dunk Low. While we await its expected release this summer, an on-foot breakdown of the sneaker has surfaced. Enjoy the preview and stay tuned for the collaboration’s official announcement and launch details.

Update: One of many exciting reveals that went down at the end of last year was a look at Futura’s latest take on the Nike SB Dunk Low. Equipped with galaxy-esque abstract overlays, an early pair has now been previewed, revealing that the pattern covers all of the shoe’s overlays. An “FL” (referencing Futura Laboratories) hit appears at the medial heel while the gray “NIKE” heel tab is reflective. Stay tuned for updates as no release specifics have been disclosed just yet, and for more info about the collaboration, review our initial breakdown below.

Original Story: Futura, aka Futura 2000, is one of the sneaker game’s most prolific collaborators. Since the early ’00s, the American graffiti artist has assembled one sought-after sneaker after another. As a result, some of his creations such as the Nike Dunk High Pro SB “FLOM” have brought in tens of thousands of dollars on the secondhand market over the years. His most recent project with Nike was in collaboration with Virgil Abloh via the Futura Laboratories line. Outfitting the Dunk Low in two colorways, they never properly hit shelves and eight pairs were auctioned this year with a size 10 in the orange look fetching a whopping $107,950 USD.

Now, it has been confirmed that Futura has prepared a Nike SB Dunk Low for 2024. An image of the design quietly surfaced back in September via Singaporean contemporary artist Jahan Loh. It has since gone viral as sneakerheads eagerly await its release with popular sneaker leaker Masterchefian reposting the photo yesterday and Futura responding to comments on the post. A key detail shared by the artist, aside from him validating its existence, includes him noting it as a “GENERAL RELEASE,” though it’s unlikely to be an easy pair to acquire. He also commented “2024” in roman numerals, indicating it as a release being prepared for next year.

The shoe itself looks to combine mesh and canvas at its upper with signature SB Dunk Low details such as the thick tongue making a return. While the base is a gray mesh, its leather Swooshes look to a dark teal while the overlays utilize a galaxy-esque print in various hues of blue, green and red. Futura’s signature rests at the lateral heel of one shoe, matching the tongue tag, while the “FL” stamp is depicted at the heel of the other. Looking to the sole unit, a white midsole with blue contrast stitching rests above an icy translucent outsole.

As Futura continues to allude to the shoe’s forthcoming release next year, stay tuned for updates regarding specifics as the pair is sure to draw attention from the masses.
