FKA Twigs and On Are Teaming Up for a Fashion-Forward Performancewear Line
The artist will be the Creative Partner for the line and the face of its first collection.
FKA Twigs habitually incorporates dance and movement into her musical output, making her newly-inked deal with On a fitting partnership. The British artist will be joining the Swiss running brand as the Creative Partner for its new training line.
As part of that role, Twigs will be helping to guide the creative direction as On – largely known for its running shoes – expands its reach in the apparel sector. Twigs will be offering a redesign of the distinct Cloudtilt sneakers, along with serving as the first face of the training line.
Images of Twigs shared with the announcement showed a sleek blank tank and blak cargo-style workout pants with a drawstring waist. The artist herself described the line as all about “chic, sharp, sensual designs with classic silhouettes.”
It appears that the line will fall within the scope of athleisure – albeit with a more streetwear-leaning aesthetic. On’s previous apparel lines have catered to running and tennis but are certainly more sporty and less versatile for those on the go.
“As a person who has always used my body as a core part of my art and expressive language, I am absolutely delighted to announce my role as creative partner at On,” Twigs said. “I hope that within my collaboration I can not only present to the world chic and original designs but also share and amplify my own personal belief that the way we move our bodies and the time that we spend connecting our mind, soul and physicality is one of the most integral parts of the human experience.”
