Last week, Rihanna was in Los Angeles launching her new Fenty Beauty Soft’lit Foundation. In a conversation with Extra, Rihanna opened up about her multi-industry passions.

While she was there to launch the brand, Rihanna spoke about the newproduct, “This is actually the biggest launch we’ve had in the brand since the brand launched in 2017. This is major for us. It’s a new era in foundation for the brand.” When asked about plans for the upcoming Met Gala, she teased, “I’m actually just keeping it real simple this year…Very simple…I think it’s gonna come to what my makeup and what my hair is going to do. We wanna play with that, but I have no idea what I’m gonna do with that.”

Later, Rihanna was asked the age old question about when she will be releasing her new music. Giving a lengthier explanation as to why she is not releasing music just yet, she teased the upcoming music project, “It’s gonna be amazing.” as to why exactly she has not felt ready to release the new album she said, “It has to be [amazing] — that is the only reason it’s not out yet. If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away. There should be a show of growth, right? I want to play, and I feel like music is a playground, and I want to have fun with it and show truly where I am at.” On future collaborations, Rihanna alluded, “I’m not a big collaborator…It has to be very intentional, so I’ll know when I have the record.”
