Update: With a beautiful campaign shot by Deo Suveera and Pamela Dimitrov, AURALEE has finally announced the release of its New Balance 990v4 MADE in USA for December 13, 2024. The images provide a better look at the tonal details of the two serene colorways, TAUPE and DUSTY BLUE. The pared-back shades of grey and powdery blue suit the retro runner well, aligning neatly with AURALEE’s cozy FW24 collection or any everyday wardrobe.
We’re in the middle of the Fall/Winter 2024 Fashion Week frenzy and alongside the reveal of the world’s greatest designers’ upcoming collections, various high-powered footwear collaborations are being unveiled each day. For Japanese label AURALEE, its contemporary tailoring was accompanied by a preview of its next project with New Balance. Following up on its 1906R team-up that launched last fall, with the duo’s Warped Runner collab still to come, the partners have assembled two 990v4 MADE in USA colorways.
Building off of the momentum found via Joe Freshgoods’ Belly-inspired 990v4 collection, AURALEE has utilized its eye for fashion-forward design by preparing two suede pairs with color arrangements that make the most of the silhouette’s intricate layering. The first pair stacks olive and brown hues, with the latter featured most prominently at the heel while a light blue runs through a portion of the midsole and accents a small layer backing the toe portion of the mudguard. Its counterpart sees a primarily-blue finish carry off-white and yellow contrast at the upper and midsole respectively.
