First Look at the Sun Day Red Pioneer Cypress
The debut footwear entry from the Tiger Woods brand.
One year after the protoyping began in the Bahamas, Tiger Woods and Sun Day Red have unveiled their debut footwear offering: the Pioneer Cypress. Woods arrived at the Hero World Challenge 12 months ago with rumors circulating about his departure from longtime partner Nike. And when he stepped onto the practice tee on the Wednesday before the tournament in a pair of logoless shoes, rather than the FootJoys he had been wearing, many were baffled. Looking back, it turns out these were the early stages of developing his debut footwear offering under his new label Sun Day Red.
Arriving in five distinct colorways which combine neutrals and red accents, the sleek silhouette is reminiscent of a classic golf shoe but executed with modern patterns and textures to propel it into the present day. The full grain leather upper gives way to a firm heel section which is finished with embossed tiger stripes while the spiked outsole is designed for traction with minimum wear on the turf. Signature details can also be found on the insoles which read “Do the work” and “Put in the time,” two mottos which Tiger lives by.
