Stone Island Unveils Aluminum-Coated Metal Mesh Jacket
Modeled by skateboarder Sage Elsesser, the jacket is infused with aluminum with industrial nanotechnology.

Just when you begin to think Stone Island couldn’t get more innovative, the premium Italian outerwear label continues to prove otherwise. Unveiled at the start of the year, Stone Island has released the Metal Mesh Jacket in all of its shimmering glory just in time for the holidays.
Modeled by skateboarder and rapper Sage Elsesser, the campaign displays the uncanny liquid-like effect of the metallic material. Stone Island achieves this using a double-layer of organza on a Cordura®500 base finished with a nanometric layer of aluminum. The PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technique borrowed from industrial uses vaporizes solid aluminum and deposits it onto the materials as a film. The metal’s reflective properties, combined with the organza’s moire tendency, yield a visually stimulating result.
Padded with premium feathers and RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified, the style does not skimp out on protection from freezing winter temperatures. The padded hood features a contour drawstring and bellows pockets on the breast and hand placements are secured with snap closures.
The Metal Mesh jacket joins a recent barrage of silver designs from the world’s top brands and designers. In footwear, prominent silver sneaker silhouettes have been released by adidas, ASICS, New Balance and more. In interiors, chrome finishes are trending upward, not only in hardware but also in home textiles applied to sofas and even bedding. Perhaps silver might be a more appropriate 2025 color of the year, rivaling the Mocha Mousse hue recently announced by Pantone.
The Metal Mesh Jacket is available now at the official Stone Island web store and select stockists.
