Update: Shortly after being teased, KITH has just announced that its KITH 101 x New Balance MADE in USA project for Fall/Winter 2024 will be releasing next week. Featuring both the 990v4 and the M1000, each look complements the KITH 101 palette by taking on colorways of a brown “Moonrock” and a light blue “Quarry” respectively. The 990v4 pairs a mesh upper with suede overlays while the M1000 sees suede combine with canvas across the shoe’s upper. Typical New Balance branding is accompanied by KITH hits at both the tongue and heel. A drawing for each shoe will open on October 4 at 1pm EDT on the KITH App with winners being selected on October 8.

Original Story: KITH pumps out dozens — maybe even hundreds — of collaborations a year with partners as wide-ranging as the NFL and Giorgio Armani. However, one of the brand’s most prosperous collaborative efforts is with New Balance: the partnership dates back to 2011, when KITH and New Balance linked for an inaugural 574 that celebrated the opening of KITH’s first Manhattan store. Now, that near-15-year legacy is being extended even further with fresh KITH x New Balance iterations of both the 990v4 and 1000.
Revealed by KITH founder Ronnie Fieg, both collaborative sneakers were created to accompany KITH’s “101” line, a set of seasonal staples in largely monochromatic color palettes. The 990v4, a silhouette that was teased in September and has been worked on by KITH in the past (most notably as a rehash of a legendary United Arrows x KITH x New Balance 997 collaboration) is dressed in a monochromatic assemblage of tan shades and features an off-white midsole. The 1000, on the other hand, is getting the KITH treatment for the first time and boasts a design centered around a light blue-grey hue atop its own off-white midsole.
At the time of writing, a release date for this duo of collaborations has yet to be announced. However, they’re likely to touch down in the coming weeks so stay tuned for further info as it’s made available.
