"Baroque Brown" Lands on the Nike Air Max 1
The oft-used hue returns to the retro runner.
As trend cycles spin, Nike is known for highlighting specific signature shades that it develops. One such hue is “Baroque Brown,” which has appeared many times over the years, but recently saw a fall push in 2023 as a go-to color that hit retro basketball silhouettes such as the Air More Uptempo and Air Flight Huarache. On top of this, another major moment for the look was when it was added to Supreme’s seasonal Nike Air Force 1 Low roster.
Now, after Travis Scott employed the color on his Air Max 1 collaboration back in 2021, the Swoosh is bringing it back to the silhouette in women’s sizing. While the aforementioned signature shade touches down at the suede mudguard and Swooshes, it also appears at the branding elements included at both the heel and tongue tag. Elsewhere, white and gray team up to cover the shoe’s base and overlays respectively. Supporting the sneaker, a visible Air unit combines with a white midsole and mostly-black rubber outsole to complete the look.
At the time of writing, Nike has not disclosed any release details pertaining to this “Baroque Brown” colorway of the Air Max 1. Look for it to touch down on shelves at some point during the coming months via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $140 USD in women’s sizes.
