Nigo's HUMAN MADE Taps Longtime Collaborator Pharrell As Official Advisor
The two designers previously co-founded Billionaire Boys Club together.

When Pharrell Williams isn’t busy helming the next collection for Louis Vuitton, the fashion and music entrepreneur has been giving advice to Nigo’s HUMAN MADE. At a preview appointment for the Paris-based Kenzo, where Nigo serves as the artistic director, he revealed to WWD that Williams recently earned an official role at his own company.
Nigo is most well-known for being the founding of A Bathing Ape (BAPE), though he ultimately departed from the brand in 2013. A few years prior to leaving BAPE, he created his own lifestyle brand, HUMAN MADE. As Nigo and Williams have been collaborators for decades – and co-founded Billionaire Boys Club, and its sub-label ICECREAM together – it was only fitting that the musical artist would continue to work alongside Nigo at HUMAN MADE.
“He didn’t have an official role and I thought it was time to make it official that he’s actually advising on the direction of the brand,” Nigo told WWD.
“I’ve really just started talking about it with Pharrell now in this position, and Brian Donnelly [aka Kaws] is also an adviser,” he continued. “So now the three of us are officially going to have this responsibility and we’re going to start working out plans.”
Nigo has previously revealed that Williams was an advisor to HUMAN MADE on Instagram, sharing an image of the two of them together alongside matching rings, but hadn’t elaborated on the nature of his role.
