032c FW24 Brings Berlin Straight to Paris in Debut Show
A defining moment for the magazine’s label.
Berlin-based cult magazine 032c has debuted its first ever runway show at Paris Fashion Week. Revealing its Fall/Winter 2024 to press from around the world, the media brand show the fashion industry how it is transforming into a luxury fashion label. Joerg and Maria Koch said, “Nobody asked us to do a show at Paris Fashion Week. And nobody asked us to transform a media brand into a luxury fashion brand. Yet here we are.”
The debut runway collection for the 032c ready-to-wear label initially began as a merch line for its magazine. Now, it has turned into a growing collection that is looking to appear as seasonal drops on the fashion calendar. Maria Koch, half of the 032c duo who is the creative force behind the brand’s RTW collection stayed true to versatile staples for the Berlin uniform. In mostly all-black or dark ensembles, the collection was filled with leather and denim outer wears. Perhaps a bold look for today’s fashion environment, 032c brings back body-hugging silhouettes with skinny jeans and skin-tight trousers.
The dark and mysterious theme carries out throughout the collection, but where the collection lost its steam was the lack of creative tailoring and unique cuts. 032c plays it safe for its debut PFW collection, seemingly still trying to find its voice on the runway. While Koch rejects the idea of timelessness, there is no denying that she has created a collection of wardrobe staples.
