Casio and Hello Kitty Unite for Baby-G Timepiece
Celebrating the character’s 50th anniversary.
2024 marks Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, so there’s going to be several celebratory offerings and collaborations all year long. The latest sees Casio team up with Hello Kitty for a collaborative Baby-G timepiece.
Alongside celebrating the beloved cat character’s 50th anniversary, the new timepiece also celebrates Baby-G’s 30th anniversary. For starters, the timepiece is based on the BGD-565 model, which is inspired by the very first Baby-G model. Comprising the collaborative watch is a crisp white build that is complimented by hues of red and blue – nodding to Hello Kitty’s signature colorways.
A striking detail of the watch is is bio-based resin band that features printed faces of Hello Kitty herself showcasing a variety of emotions. Aside from the band, Hello Kitty also appears on the watch face when backlit – specifically showcasing her eyes, whiskers and nose. Finishing off the watch is a signature ribbon design on the dial. Like many of Casio’s watches, the timepiece features shock resistance, water resistance up to 100 meters, a three-year battery life, a multi-function alarm, a stopwatch and a countdown timer. To cement the celebration, the watch also comes in special edition packaging.
