Montell Fish Returns with Melancholic New Single “I Just Wanna Feel Your Love Again”
Along with a music video set in a church.
Almost a year ago, Montell Fish shared a song called “I Just Wanna Feel Your Love Again” to YouTube, a simple, melancholy rendition, where the only instrumental backing came from the gentle strumming of an acoustic guitar.
At the time, Fish hadn’t released the song onto streaming services. Eleven months later, he’s now returned with an official studio version of the track, along with a music video.
In the visual, Fish is still playing the guitar but rather than from his bedroom, he’s sitting between pews on the floor of a church. The image harks back to the earlier days of the crooner’s career – for those unfamiliar, Fish’s first few projects were indie Christian gospel albums.
Over the past two years, he briefly disappeared from the industry after putting out a joint LP with Lord’s Child before returning with his debut solo effort, JAMIE.
The lyrics of “I Just Wanna Feel Your Love Again” aren’t overtly religious. At first listen, the single appears to be about a breakup, a theme taken up in many of Fish’s recent releases. The music video, however, offers a different interpretation.
Watch the video for Montell Fish’s “I Just Wanna Feel Your Love Again” and stream the song everywhere now.
