Awake NY Launches Fall 23 Collection
The first drop includes a Bruce Lee tee, floral-printed fleece, hats inspired by some of NY’s five boroughs, rhinestone sweatsuits and more.
Between opening a flagship store in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, teasing a partnership with Jordan Brand, working on collaborations with Tommy Hilfiger, Tommy Jeans, Carhartt WIP, Union LA and more and releasing an expansive in-line collection this past spring, 2023 has been a banner year for Awake NY. Now, the Angelo Baque-helmed brand is ready to present their latest in-house offering: the richly-colored and boldly-branded Fall 23 collection.
The collection’s first drop serves up the graphic staples that Awake NY is best-known for, but also works in a healthy selection of elevated knit pieces, as has been the brand’s custom for the past several seasons. Standouts include the “Wisdom” Tee, which shows a portrait of Bruce Lee alongside one of his famous quotes, the Floral-Printed Fleece Jacket (undeniably the collection’s most visually stimulating piece due to its all-over floral print), rhinestone-equipped hoodies and matching sweatpants, crisp varsity jackets, a long-sleeve tee with a muted body and boldly-striped sleeves and an array of elegant knit sweaters and cardigans.
“If you’re coming to Awake, you’re not coming for hype. You like the work that we’re doing, both the work that pertains to the clothes and the work that has nothing to do with the clothes,” Angelo Baque told Hypebeast in May when Awake NY’s flagship opened its doors. I feel like we’ve been really consistent over the past six years, and it’s really clear what we stand for and stand behind.”
Expect the first drop of Awake NY’s Fall 23 collection to touch down on the brand’s webstore and at its NYC store come 12 PM EST September 16.
