Oris Taps a Purple Dial Aquis as Its 2023 Hölstein Edition
Only 250 units available.
Every year at the start of June, Oris releases a 250-piece limited-edition under the name Hölstein Edition as an homage to the brand’s home ground. For this year’s launch, Oris is serving up its popular Aquis diver’s watch with a mystical deep purple dial.
The deep purple hue has been heavily requested by Oris’ community and is finally making an appearance as a color dial for this special timepiece. This is also the first time the Aquis model is selected as a Hölstein Edition, and without its usual date display as well. Unlike the preceding editions, which had a much more playful and “off-the-wall” approach, the 2023 edition is a rather evergreen choice. Oris’ Co-CEO, Rolf Studer explains that “the Hölstein Edition 2023 is a simpler execution of the idea, and places the focus more squarely on the passions and desires of the Oris community.”
The limited-edition diver’s watch arrives in a 41.5mm stainless steel case, accompanied by a uni-directional rotating bezel with a gray ceramic insert. At the caseback, the iconic Oris Bear motif makes a return, but this time around, it’s wearing scuba gear that echos the Aquis’ nature as a diver’s watch. Powering the timepiece is a highly anti-magnetic in-house calibre 400, boasting 120 hours of power reserve and up to 30 bar water resistance.
Retailing for $4,300 USD, the 2023 Hölstein Edition is now exclusively available via Oris’ official website.
