Today, Ghanaian-American artist Amaarae released her sophomore album, Fountain Baby.

As a wide-reaching music specialist, the new album expands Amaarae’s versatile sound as it incorporates R&B, hip-hop, Afropop, punk and alternative rock – arriving just in time for summer. What also stands out about the album is its featureless composition, which allows for an unadulterated experience of Amaarae. Fountain Baby comes behind the artist’s debut studio album, The Angel You Don’t Know, which was released in November 2020.

Alongside the album release, Amaarae has dropped a new music video for her track “Wasted Eyes,” which also appears on the album. Filled with seduction, the steady, yet sensual track and accompanying music video reveals a tale of allure and freedom. “Edit it all, make it scene on scene/Under it all, know you scheme on me/Hottie million with a milli’ on me/I wanna menage with the blicky on me,” sings Amaarae in the second verse.
