Warner Bros. Games has released the official gameplay debut trailer for Mortal Kombat 1.

What stands out about the forthcoming game for the celebrated title is that it offers a refreshed take on the Mortal Kombat storyline, instead of just setting forth a new sequel – which many fans originally expected. Leading the charge are the franchise’s signature characters including Sub-Zero, Raiden, Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kitana, Mileena and more. The exciting new trailer reveals a range of fight scenes between the lineup of characters. But what stands out is the new fighting system, fatalities, moves and game modes.

Check out the official gameplay debut trailer above. Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC on September 19.

In other gaming news, EA is set to move Star Wars: The Old Republic development from BioWare.
