G.H. Bass Takes the Weejuns Loafer to New Heights With the Super Lug Collection
Formalwear just got utilitarian.
In today’s fashion climate, sartorial cues and streetwear leanings are more blended than ever before. It’s enabled street labels to work with formal footwear stalwarts, and has seen the likes of G.H. Bass find a new community of loafer lovers, enhanced by the power of collaborations à la Fred Perry and its new range of footwear. Now, G.H. Bass welcomes a new line, dubbed the Super Lug collection.
Falling under the G.H. Bass Weejuns line, the new collection of Super Lug loafers is identified by the signature strip of leather stitched across the saddle of the shoe. This is what makes a Weejuns style, and now the imprint elevates this silhouette with a new, chunky lug sole unit.
For the new drop, the shoes sit atop a storm-welted 7mm XL EVA outsole, making these the highest-sitting shoes from the brand to date. The result is something formal yet utilitarian, built for the streets as opposed to the ballroom. Furthering the shoe’s versatility, we find the uppers made from durable moc leather, taking on a classic Penny loafer aesthetic for two pairs, and another in a Horsebit offering.
