Pedro Pascal has been cast in Ridley Scott‘s forthcoming Gladiator 2.

According to reports, the actor is currently “in final negotiations” for a still-undisclosed role. Pascal will be starring in the sequel alongside lead Paul Mescal, who portrays Lucius, the son of Connie Nielsen’s Lucilla and nephew of Joaquin Phoenix’s Commodus, who is now a grown man, and the likes of Barry Keoghan, Joseph Quinn, Connie Nielsen and Denzel Washington. Plot details remain under wraps, however previous reports state that Maximus’ (Russell Crowe) act of saving Lucius and Lucilla while avenging his family “left a strong impression on the young Lucius.”

Scott will direct and produce alongside Michael Pruss, Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher, while David Scarpa wrote the script.

Gladiator 2 hits theaters November 22, 2024.
