Elon Musk’s Boring Company Will Expand Las Vegas Tunnel Network to 65 Miles

Elon Musk’s Boring Company (TBC) has received approval once again to expand its tunnel network under Las Vegas. This time, the expansion brings the network up to 65 miles.

When the company first received approval for the loop tunnel project in 2021, it encompassed 29 miles with 51 stations. In the summer of last year, an updated approval took the project to 34 miles with 55 stations. Now the latest approval sees the plan grow to include 65 miles of tunnels alongside 69 stations.
The revised plan was approved in a 6-1 vote by the commissioners, according to TechCrunch. The vote came after The Boring Company’s lawyer, Stephanie Allen, assured that the company would be paying for the project in its entirety, not taxpayers. However, there is concern about the negative effects that the system may have on employees of casinos and resort who travel into the city, which caused Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick to pose the project. Allen explained that TBC has plans to expand into residential areas as well.
