Feast on Burger King's New "Spider-Verse" Whopper
Red buns and black sesame seeds draw inspiration from the ‘Spider-Man’ suit that Miles Morales wears in the film.
The excitement continues to brew over the forthcoming release of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse which arrives in theaters on June 2, 2023. Brands like Jordan Brand have linked up with the film to create a special “Next Chapter” Air Jordan 1 High colorway, and now Burger King is chiming in on the action by unveiling a special “Spider-Verse” Whopper collaboration.
Aside from slapping the movie poster onto its soft drink cups, Burger King takes things a step further for this initiative by fashioning the scrumptious burger to match the aesthetic of the creepy-crawling hero. Red food coloring has been injected into the bun and topped off with black sesame seeds to symbolize the suit that Miles Morales wears in the film.
From May 15 to June 21, customers can enjoy the “Spider-Verse” whopper at participating Burger King locations in a myriad of combinations, one of which includes whoppers with bacon on them. “Like the infinite number of universes that can be explored in the next installment of the award-winning Spider-Man franchise, Burger King fans can discover new and exciting ways to customize the ‘Spider-Verse’ menu items,” Pat O’Toole, Chief Marketing Officer at Burger King North America said in the collab’s official release.
In other news, Shake Shack launched its plant-based menu nationwide.
