Tissot Updates the PRX Lineup With New Materials and Colorways

In 2021, Tissot relaunched its emblematic 1978 watch in the form of the PRX model. Now, the horologer has broadened the lineup with the PRX Automatic Chronograph, PRX Powermatic 80, and the PRX Quartz in new materials and colorways.

Outfitted in a 42mm satin-finished steel case, the new PRX Automatic Chronograph seamlessly aligns with the sleek and angular aesthetic of the collection. As a high-functioning timepiece, the chronograph is integrated with the Swiss-made Valjoux A05 H31 Calibre, complete with an extended power reserve of 60 hours. Attired with a classic chronograph “panda” dial, the piece proudly nods back to classic 1970s sports watches.

Upholding its preceding models’ slight tonneau silhouette and slim, polished bezel, Tissot’s new PRX Powermatic 80 watches are introduced to a refreshing ice blue chequered pattern dial. Two more colorways are also included, which span from failsafe and fuss-free everyday black, as well as a darker blue. Running on the mechanical self-winding Powermatic 80 Calibre, the rather compact 40mm watch boasts up to 80 hours of power reserve. While the timepiece comes with a matching satin-finish steel bracelet, an additional black rubber strap is included.

Perhaps one of Tissot’s most identifiable models, the PRX Quartz and the Powermatic 80 bear many comparable characteristics at a glance — from the 40mm case size, blue and black dial options, to the black rubber strap. Alongside an additional off-white colorway, what sets the new PRX 40 205 Quartz reference apart is that the dial has been completely doused in Super-LumiNova — a first for Tissot.
