Each year, Nike continues to experiment with new themes and colorways that it spreads across its various silhouettes. At the tail end of 2022, it was revealed that a new “Chicago Split” colorway was being prepared for the Dunk Low. Earlier this month, Nike officially presented the sneaker — breaking down its unique build. Now, the divided branding elements have appeared on the Air Trainer 1.

Unlike the Dunk Low iteration, “Coconut Milk”-flavored suede layers adorn a significant portion of the upper, breaking up the white leather base. A matching strap carries red Nike branding while its leather Swooshes begin in “University Red,” swapping to black towards the tail. The tongue tag is similarly split horizontally — favoring a half retro Nike, half Nike Air look. At the heel, a vertical divide sees red Nike embroidery paired with a Nike Air logo printed in black. Wrapping things up, an off-white midsole is backed by a matching outsole with black and red segments.

As of now, no release information pertaining to the Nike Air Trainer 1 “Chicago Split” has been disclosed by Nike. However, it is expected to touch down on shelves in the coming months via the Swoosh and select Nike Sportwear retailers.

Stay tuned for more details regarding this launch and for more of the latest news in footwear, G-Dragon’s PEACEMINUSONE x Nike Kwondo 1 “Panda” has finally received a release date — over half a year after its official reveal.
