Monolith Reveals Sculptural Debut Collection “Sanctuary”
Featuring an array of chairs, tables and more.
NYC-based design studio Monolith has revealed its debut collection “Sanctuary” during this year’s Zona Maco art fair in Mexico City.
Founded by Marc Personick in 2022, the studio focuses on collectible furniture and homeware by exalting natural beauty through heavy constructions and clean shapes. Sanctuary takes form takes via nine designs that comprise chairs, tables and more crafted from stone and wood. Specifically, the collection utilizes locally sourced Jalapa Travertine, White Oak, Recinto Negro and Walnut. The pieces’ natural materials are enhanced by curved and straight-edge modular designs that convey of sense of contemporary refinement.
With Monolith, all of its pieces are handcrafted by artisans in Mexico City and New York. Alongside this focal practice, the Sanctuary collection also features three exclusive pieces designed by London-based architect Benni Allan and the Paris-based design entity Studio Le Cann. To celebrate the new collection, Monolith is also set to take over the Campos Polanco hotel/residences in Mexico City from February 8-10.
