"Black Denim" Lands on the Nike Air Max 1 '86

Nike’s Air Max line may be decades old now, but it continues to lead the charge for the Swoosh as it produces many of the brand’s key lifestyle offerings each year. Nike turned back time this year for Air Max Day with the OG “Big Bubble” look returning on the newly-reintroduced Air Max 1 ‘86. Since then, the retro iteration of the sneaker has surfaced in a myriad of colorways, with its latest look carrying a “Black Denim” finish.
Kicking off the new pair, the upper begins with a textured leather mudguard in black that wraps around the shoe. From there, a rough blue suede base is accompanied by pink denim detailing at the midfoot and tongue, matching the laces and lining. Its signature “Black Denim” enters the mix at the primary midfoot overlay and heel counter as the Swooshes carry a light gray leather that contrasts the denim. Supporting the sneaker, an off-white midsole with a visible Air unit is joined by a combination of pastel blue and pink at the rubber outsole.
At the time of writing, Nike has not revealed any release details pertaining to this “Black Denim” colorway of the Air Max 1 ‘86. Stay tuned for updates as it’s currently forecasted for a launch during next spring via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $170 USD.
