Beyoncé to Release Concert Film of Her 'RENAISSANCE' World Tour
Reportedly in final talks to distribute to AMC Theatres.
Beyoncé is reportedly in final talks to release a concert film of her RENAISSANCE world tour with AMC Theatres. According to Deadline, the Queen B is looking to cement her tour in history, apparently recording two of her shows in her hometown of Houston, Texas last month as part of the concert film.
The 42 year-old global super star originally kicked off the RENAISSANCE world tour in Stockholm, Sweden at the Friends Arena, marking the beginning of her first tour in seven years. The set list included performances from her seventh studio album, RENAISSANCE, including hits such as “Alien Superstar,” “Cuff It,” “Pure/Honey” and “Plastic Off the Sofa.” She also performed previous hits like “Crazy In Love,” “Partition” and “Love On Top.” Her 11-year-old daughter Blue Ivy has joined Beyoncé on stage to perform in segments of the show. Blue Ivy has become somewhat of a TikTok sensation because of her appearances onstage to perform “My Power” and “Black Parade.”
The project is said to be a documentary-style project that shows how Beyoncé made the record and built the tour. The film is expected to plan for a December 1, 2023 wide release with the RENAISSANCE tour looking to gross close to $560 million USD in ticket sales. The deal appears to come hot off the heels of a similar one from Taylor Swift. Swift recently announced a straightforward concert film based on her ERAS tour. Insiders report that Beyoncé will receive the same deal, which means she will take more than 50% of the worldwide grosses. The Beyhive will have to be patience for the confirmation as neither Beyoncé or AMC have confirmed anything as of writing.
