U.K.-born Dr. Martens and Japanese label Undercover have walked hand-in-hand for nearly ten years, having released annual collaborations that defy the traditional. Designer Jun Takahashi often injects his refined aesthetic into every design, previously reimagining Dr. Martens’ 1460 and 1461 shoes, upon others, while also taking part in the brand’s 60th anniversary 1460 Remastered series.

Kicking off 2023 with a bang, the unstoppable duo reunites once more for a three-part collection featuring the Made In England 1461 3-eye shoe. Releasing in “Cherry,” “Red,” and “Blue,” Undercover’s recognizable checkered pattern is subtlely stamped on matte leather uppers, while its slogan “WE MAKE NOISE NOT CLOTHES” is tonally embossed on the exterior-facing heel counters.

The design is inspired by Jun Takahashi’s adoration for ’70s film, complete with standard black laces and co-branded insoles, settled atop Dr. Martens’ trademark rubber sole units adorned with yellow welt stitching. In addition, every pair will be delivered in custom packaging to round out the cinematic experience.

Take a closer look at the Undercover x Dr. Martens Made In England 1461 collaboration in the gallery above. All three pairs will be available for purchase on January 13 via Dr. Martens and select retailers.
