Pedro Pascal has voiced his openness in starring in Marvel moves and other superhero-esque films alike.

In a recent interview with WIRED, the actor — who is fresh off the role of Joel in HBO‘s The Last of Us series adaptation — opened up about how he would want to be in “traditional” Marvel roles and superhero films complete with the cape and CGI. “…I do want that. I want to be in movies,” Pascal shared. He also touched on the current state of world politics and how that can change the meaning of being a hero, to which he responded, “There’s so many ways to misunderstand people and to forget that, at the end of the day, your neighbor is very likely to give you the shirt off their own back. The interchanges that you have with strangers are, more often than not, human. But then you can go and look shit up and be terrified by how divided we all apparently are. To comfort myself, I just remember that everybody I come in contact with is sort of, in their own way, heroically kind.”

Pascal added that he never really saw himself as the “face” of a new hero, especially “because Mando is faceless,” referring to his character in Disney and Lucasfilms’ The Mandalorian. He continued, “I haven’t thought about it in that way. I’m always struggling to imagine myself as being a part of something that I have been witness to growing up and watching. There’s a disconnect for me—I don’t know how to place myself in that world. Like, I just go a little blank.”
