Yayoi Kusama Sculpture Peers Over Louis Vuitton's Champs Elysées Store

Celebrating the house’s second collaboration with the Japanese artist.

Following other large activations around the world such as a takeover of Tokyo’s giant Cross Shinjuku Vision billboard and the placement of a moving Yayoi Kusama animatronics robot on the 5th Avenue store in New York City, Louis Vuitton has now given a massive makeover to its Maison Champs-Élysées flagship store in Paris.

Spread over the entirety of the Art Déco building constructed by Georges Vuitton in 1912 are Kusama’s colored polka dots which dance across the scaled terraces. To the left, a giant sculpture of the Japanese artist is seen in the motion of planting the painted specks on the building while at ground level, floating metal balloons hover over the entry hall and more colorful orb details decorate the surrounding floor-to-ceiling display windows.

This year’s collaboration with Yayoi Kusama marks the fashion house’s second time working with the now 93-year-old artist following their first joint venture in 2012. Offerings from the Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton collection are now available at LV stores worldwide. Catch an early glimpse of the limited-time store facade above.
