Blue Version by adidas Originals Pushes the Stan Smith into the Future
Producing two new versions of the classic court model alongside a futuristic apparel collection.
Since its launch in 2022, adidas Originals’ ambitious Blue Version initiative has repeatedly dove into its archive to create contemporary versions of vintage brand classics. In addition, the division aims to highlight adidas’ infamous “Bluebird” tone and continues its journey into the future by reimagining the iconic Stan Smith.
The co-ed offering is made for the new generation of rule-breakers, presenting the sneaker through a contemporary lens that dares you to be different. The original court model is redrafted into the futuristic Stan Smith Millencon, featuring curved proportions, chunky midsoles, and bold titular branding at the sides.
On the other hand, the Stan Smith Recon is presented simply with a white leather upper, medial Three Stripes perforations, and dramatic natural rubber sole units. Gilded branding hits the tongues for an elegant look.
In the apparel department, adidas kicks it back to the ’70s with modernized versions of “Bluebird”-colored mesh bodysuits adorned with sequin detailing, matching trousers, cropped tees, and a shimmering jacket-and-short combo.
