The Brain Dead x ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9 Launches Next Week
Two flashy colorways that will make a statement with every wear.
Update: Following an early preview of the green/yellow/red pair, Brain Dead has officially announced the launch of its ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9 collaboration. Starring an unseen purple and green colorway, the two looks are set to launch in Paris for Fashion Week on January 21 with a general release taking place on January 24 online and in stores.
Original Story: If there ever was a techno-futuristic sorbet of a shoe, it would likely be the Brain Dead x ASICS ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9. Always ones to push boundaries, Brain Dead bypasses any semblance of a neutral kick to present a flashy runner that will make a statement with every wear.
Colorful and chaotic, the sneaker is dressed down in a medley of punchy pinks and maroon across the upper, along with fluorescent orange along the heel counter and toe-box. Balancing out the red-dominant pastiche are hits of mint on the base and an olive midsole and outsole. Additional highlights include the Brain Dead and ASICS co-branding on the rubber tongue label and heel, as well as obsidian rope laces.
Appearing in a number of collaborations as of late, from Florence Tétier to Cecilie Bahnsen, Brain Dead’s iteration of the GEL-Nimbus 9 stands out amongst the pack for its uncompromising approach to color. Keep your eyes peeled as more information regarding the price and release date are revealed in the coming weeks.
