Usher To Release Reimagined Tracks From Iconic 1997 LP ‘My Way’
Commemorating the influential album’s 25th anniversary.
Usher is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his hit R&B album My Way with a special edition containing reimagined songs. Slated to drop this Friday, the expanded project will offer fans revamped versions of three tracks from the original LP, “You Make Me Wanna…,” “Nice & Slow” and the titular song, “My Way.”
My Way debuted as Usher’s second studio album with guest appearances from Monica, Jermaine Dupri and Lil’ Kim. Landing as the artist’s breakout record, it would go on to be certified six times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, as well as snagging Usher a GRAMMY nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
Alongside the expanded album, a mini-documentary will explore the impact of My Way, featuring interviews from Dupri, producer Ryan James Carr and Usher himself. Fans will also catch a glimpse into the process of making the reimagined singles.
Since the release of My Way, Usher has put out six additional studio LPs, 10 compilation albums and a handful of EPs and collaborations, cementing his place in R&B history.
The 25th-anniversary edition of Usher’s My Way is out for streaming this Friday, September 16.
