Patta Teases New Balance 990v3 Collab
The Dutch sneaker savants are taking on the beloved silhouette for the first time ever.

After collaborating on an earthy 920 in 2020 and an elegant 991 in 2021, Patta and New Balance are pushin’ P again with a 990v3. Teased by Tim Sabajo — the brother of Patta co-founder Edson Sabajo and a day 1 Patta team member — the new design appears to feature richly-textured materials and bold colorblocking.
Though Sabajo only posted a single photo of the forthcoming collab’s heel, it’s enough to provide a decent overview of what the design entails. Suede, mesh and synthetics meet on the upper, which uses a melange of mossy green tones and appears to add vibrance with pops of kelly green and bright blue towards the forefoot. There’s a special Patta logo treatment and another stamped graphic that notes the shoe’s made-in-the-USA construction. Speckled two-tone midsoles round off the look.
The 990v3 has been one of 2022’s hottest New Balance sneakers thanks in large part to Teddy Santis‘ work on the MADE in USA line, and Patta will help add fuel to the fire when their take on the beloved runner (which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year) touches down in the coming months. An exact date of arrival has yet to be announced but will likely surface soon.
