Closer Look at the Jordan Zion 2 "Voodoo"
The rising NBA superstar nods to New Orleans’ roots.

Ever since Zion Williamson was welcomed into the New Orleans Pelicans family, he’s shown nothing but love to the city. If there are any indications of that, it’s the fact that multiple footwear colorways in his signature line with Jordan Brand have been dedicated to various elements of the Big Easy. And this week, the NBA superstar’s newest Jordan Zion 2 is slated to launch in a brand new “Voodoo” colorway, and we’ve captured an in-depth look at the pair.
Being that voodoo is such a significant part of New Orleans culture and the way its people connect to their spirits and ancestors, this colorway makes perfect sense. The upper halves are replete with striking details inspired by the African diasporic religion. Exposed stitches are positioned on areas such as the toe boxes, quarters and heels and the base is fashioned with suede and canvas materials to mimic the look and feel of an actual voodoo doll. Faux hair dons the middle of the throat while Williamson’s signature logo adorns the tongues. Additionally, the heels are graced with a skull face to enhance its superstitious aura and the insoles split between “Voodoo” text on the left side “Zion” hits on the right.
Be on the lookout for retailers like Sneaker Politics to launch these on July 7 for $140 USD.
Elsewhere in sneakers, the Air Jordan 5 GORE-TEX “Off-Noir” has emerged.
