COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS' Nike Air Max Sunder SP Is Finally Dropping
Coming in “White/Black,” “Triple White” and “Triple Black” soon.

COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS‘ Spring/Summer 2022 Tokyo runway show “The Existence of Flowers” saw the Rei Kawakubo-helmed label perform at its very best, presenting hard-edged clothing clashed with florals for a contemporary mix-up of traditions. Littered throughout this collection was, however, a standout collaboration with Nike, and now the duo’s Air Max Sunder SP is set for its official, global release.
First introduced in 1999, the Air Max Sunder stands as one of the Swoosh’s most intriguing designs ever made. With its roots in cross-training, the sneaker debuted with a Lycra spandex upper and heel lock fit system that incorporated an additional internal fit system for optimum levels of comfort. It was ahead of its time, too, as the Sunder also sported a full-length Phylon midsole with visible Air units, and now this all comes together as inspiration for the CDG x Nike Air Max Sunder SP.
For this collaboration, CDG opts for an upper crafted from premium neoprene and nubuck, situating the materials on the upper and lower bumper, respectively. Retro “AIR” branding is embroidered into the sock-like, zipper-equipped tongue, which locks at the top. Here, you’ll find COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS branding and a webbing tongue tag, echoing the one at the heel.
A small Nike Swoosh emblem is embedded into the nylon upper, while plenty of padding can be found inside alongside dual branding, subsequently rounding out the sneaker.
The COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max Sunder SP will drop in “White/Black,” “Triple White” and “Triple Black” colorways at Dover Street Market on July 21 at 11 a.m. BST. Online and in-store sign-ups are now open on DSM’s website, and the sneaker will retail for £280 GBP (approx. $333 USD).
