Official Images of the Union x Nike Cortez
Chris Gibbs and his team rework the LA staple with colorful canvas uppers.

Union LA is known to engage with various partners every year for collaborative apparel and sneaker initiatives, but this year, it’s projects with Nike and Jordan Brand have been generating the most buzz. After recently dropping its full Air Jordan 2 collection, the SoCal-based retailer is shifting its attention back over to the Nike side to introduce a new footwear capsule centered around the Cortez.
With the Cortez being such an important part of Los Angeles’ sneaker culture, it only makes sense why the Chris Gibbs-helmed boutique would want to apply its creative touch to this model. There are multiple colorways that are expected to be released, and the beige pair has finally surfaced by way of official imagery. The kicks take a departure from its traditional leather build and arrive formed with canvas underlays and suede overlays, both of which are primarily dressed with a lighter beige. The former also comes treated with striped details as well as brighter red accents atop the Swooshes, laces, lower throat and heel tabs. Union branding is ushered in through the forefoot yellow tabs, in all-over fashion on the insoles and singular logos on the heel tabs and both sides of the tongues.
There’s no word on when these will release just yet, but Union and Nike will likely be confirming this in the coming months.
In other news, on-foot images of the NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra “Black/University Gold” have appeared.
