Visual Artist tobyato Receives His Own ASICS NOVABLAST SPS Collaboaration
The kicks are inspired by the ancient Chinese philosophy of yin and yang.
tobyato is an artist of many disciplines who has made a name for himself by fashioning breathtaking murals in Singapore to creating brand collaborations with the likes of Levi’s, Shake Shack, Casio G-SHOCK and more. And this Spring, the visual maven has been tapped by ASICS to generate a special NOVABLAST SPS collaboration.
The kicks have been designed in an asymmetrical fashion, and pull inspiration from the ancient Chinese philosophy known as yin and yang. To visually articulate how opposite forces are actually interconnected, tobyato employs black and white color-blocking on each shoe, the right side of which is backdropped in black and features white wavy patterns while the left side is presented in flipped fashion. Bold pink accents are a stand-out element of the kicks as they outline the signature tiger stripes, the tabs on the throat, as well as the ASICS hits atop the velcro patch tongues and insoles. In addition, the footbeds add more playfulness as they have been printed with black and white psychedelic graphics.
