Saint Laurent Rive Droite Taps HERVET-MANUFACTURIER for Longboard-Inspired Coffee Tables
While also producing a collection of exotic wood longboards.
The heritage Normandy-based furniture company HERVET-MANUFACTURIER is the latest to be enlisted by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent Rive Droite, coming together to produce a range of longboards and a longboard-inspired coffee table in two sizes.
HERVET-MANUFACTURIER is known for mastering the art of woodwork, drawing influence from past centuries — typically mid-century modern design — to produce furniture and decorative objects for the home. Everything it does respects traditions, typically drawing upon techniques used in carpentry, cabinetmaking, marquetry and upholstery as it works with exotic woods, full-grain leather and metals.
Naturally, then, HERVET-MANUFACTURIER and Saint Laurent Rive Droite haven’t cut corners with their new collaboration. Using zebra marquetry comprising of Zebrano and Louro Preto wood for inlay, the duo presents a longboard-shaped duo of coffee tables in a short and longer size, complete with three legs for that signature MCM finish that are made from birch plywood panel just like the table base, as well as an oak underside to round things off.
Elsewhere, longboards are made using the same zebra marquetry, as well as Paldao wood, Palisander wood, Frake wood, and a final iteration in darkened Pearwood marquetry, with all sporting the Saint Laurent moniker in either its signature block-caps form or a cursive design.
The collaboration is exclusively available in Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in Paris and Los Angeles and everything can be seen above and online.
